The Stone

The odds were all against her, with child an’ just sixteen.

Some said that one mistake, would cost her everything.

But tonight she’ll throw a party.  Her son is twelve years old.

And she’s the home town doctor, it just goes to show.

Like the stone from David’s sling.

A little faith is a mighty thing.

Let your hopes an’ dreams take wing.

They’ll be strong like the stone from David’s sling.

He said my name is Walter, I’ve been sober three days now.

Grant me the strength I need to fight this thing somehow.

Someone asked, do you want a sponsor, an’ he said yes in tears.

Last month he got a pin, he’s made it now three years.

Like the stone from David’s sling.

A little faith is a mighty thing.

Let your hopes an’ dreams take wing.

They’ll be strong like the stone from David’s sling.

We all have mountains to climb.

An’ our own giants to slay.

If you can only find the will,

You will find a way.

Like the stone from David’s sling.

A little faith is a mighty thing.

Let your hopes an’ dreams take wing.

They’ll be strong like the stone from David’s sling.

They’ll be strong like the stone from David’s sling.
